ABOUT

A Passionate Composer and Session Guitarist

Ethan Richey was born and raised in the Greater Los Angeles area. Son to an amazing guitarist, there was never a shortage of music to listen to, and by the age of 5, he had developed a love for the jazz guitar playing of legends such as Barney Kessel and George Benson.
As he grew older, he delved further into the music of the jazz greats, while simultaneously developing an interest in heavy metal, alternative rock, and blues. At the age of 16, Ethan began playing guitar at the instruction of his father. He was enthralled, often staying up into the late hours of the night practicing chords, rhythms, and scale shapes.
As he progressed, he began to recognize an ongoing love for Film Music that he hadn't noticed before. Spending countless hours analyzing, studying, and listening to scores by the likes of John Williams, Howard Shore, Hans Zimmer, and more, it's safe to say it became an obsession.

Since then, Ethan Richey has now created music for short films, indie games, advertisements, promos, and more.

In addition to this, Ethan has played guitar on many professional albums in a variety of genres.

"Guitar is still one of my first passions and I love to use what I've learned in my studies of jazz theory and overall music theory, as a tool to aid my compositions."

"Ethan understands direction and is able to communicate effectively. Most of all, he is good at what he does. I have worked with him on two projects and I like the guy!"
